On April 13th, the opening ceremony for the Sichuan-Tibet 318 National Highway was held in Tibet. Chairman of the Tibet autonomous region, Luosang Jiangchun, cut the ribbon at the ceremony. The project began in August 2012 and SECI provided design reviews, safety assessments, and technical consulting throughout all stages of construction.

The Sichuan-Tibet Highway extends from Chengdu, Sichuan, to Lhasa, Tibet, and is 2,155km in length. This is the most important section of the National Highway No.318 between Shanghai and Nielamu, and is a critical road near the western border of China.

This project entailed the reconstruction of sections 102 & 105 of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. Sections 102 & 105 are the bottleneck portions of the highway containing several long tunnels, a suspension bridge, a cable-stayed bridge, and landslide control projects.
